Demonstration Test of Surgical Video Transmission Using 5G Technology in Chile
Together with the Arturo López Pérez Foundation (FALP), a non-profit charitable medical center that provides cancer treatment and diagnostic services in Chile, and NTT DATA, we conducted a demonstration test of real-time transmission of high-resolution surgical videos.
Utilizing NTT DATA’s 5G technology equipment and our Join LiveView, we created an environment in which urological surgeries could be transmitted, allowing specialists to observe the surgeries via cell phones and TV screens set up in the facility’s auditorium.
The high quality videos were able to be delivered with a time lag of only 1 second. It was concluded that this technology can contribute to the training of specialists and compensate for the shortage of specialists in remote areas.
